Whenever we're hungry, we just eat whatever food we can easily grab. Eating has never been wrong however, there are foods you should never nibble on an empty stomach.
When you haven't eaten your breakfast, you must be extra cautious what to eat first for it may lead to something serious.
Here are the foods you should avoid eating on an empty stomach:
1. Carbonated Drinks
Carbonated drinks can badly damage your sfomach lining and prevent a good blood flow of oxygen.
2. Bananas
Bananas on an empty stomach will cause your body to absorb too much magnesium in your blood. Since it is not accompanied by other nutrients, your protein carriers can only utilize magnesium and make your stomach acidic.
3. Yoghurt
We all know what’s inside yoghurt. It has live microorganisms which are actually your normal flora or the kind that will help your normal flora. Your stomach acids alone cannot digest and absorbs all the nutrients you plan to intake. So your normal intestinal bacteria does the work in breaking down these particles. Eating yoghurt would render the bacteria on it as useless.
Without any other food to help in digestion, your stomach acid will kill them anyway.
4. Citrus Fruits
Just like tomatoes, citrus are rich in acids. Acid on acid is very painful in the stomach and can make you develop ulcers later on.
5. Short crusts and Pastries
The yeast in the bread can still potentially irritate your stomach lining. Irritation of the stomach lining can always lead to improper acid production.
6. Alcohol
There are people who drink alcohol first thing in the morning. They even include alcohol in cooking food. Alcohol isn’t so great since your organs will have a hard time converting the alcohol into something useful.
7. Tomatoes
Tomatoes are rich in acids. These tannic acids can compete with your stomach acids and just make your whole stomach environment really acidic.
8. Pears
Pears are high in crude fiber. Too much fiber or fiber alone for the gut to absorb can irritate the stomach lining.
9. Sweets
Glucose as the primary substance to absorb can overload your pancreas and make it produce too much insulin. Your organs have just been in work again so do not surprise them with a huge does of sweets.
